(PressZoom.com) - Across the U.S., demonstrators have marked the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. In Washington D.C., thousands of protestors protested near the famous landmarks and buildings to show their anger over this war and to ask for the war to end immediately.

"So many lives have been lost and many more are sure to be lost if the war does not end today." said Thomas Dickerson of PressZoom.com. According to most polls, Americans still decry the war and disapprove over how the war has been and is being handled.

Polls also indicate that citizens of America want an Iraq pullout as soon as possible with many of those polled looked to the new presidential candidates to see if theie position on either withdrawl or continued fighting in Iraq. The war in Iraq also seemed to hit almost all those polled with many knowing personally someone who was hurt or died during this five year war.

Many other protests took place today around the U.S. at historic places as well as schools and colleges.
