“I know both Councillors Sutton and Dick well having worked with them on local and state issues over a long period,” the Premier said.
“Shayne Sutton is an impressive hard-working young woman whose commitment to her Morningside ward was rewarded with an enormous swing to her last Saturday night,” the Premier said.
“Shayne understands the pressures on Brisbane families and she understands the importance of all levels of government doing all they can to ease that burden.
“I know Shayne and Milton Dick will be a formidable team, as Milton will bring to the table his experience and knowledge from his time as Labor State Secretary.
“Strong democracies require strong opposition and I know Labor’s new city council team will work hard on behalf of the people of Brisbane.
