(PressZoom) - Cairns business owners who wish to boost their opportunities in overseas markets are being urged to attend two seminars in April.
This month the Cairns Regional Centre has two workshops on offer covering Export Marketing and Getting It There and Getting Paid.
Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Minister Desley Boyle, also the Member for Cairns, said Export Marketing would help local businesses to explore the different options available when exporting their product or service.
“The workshop is really worthwhile as it teaches participants how to evaluate and analyse potential export partners as well as targeting distribution logistics from a marketing perspective,” Ms Boyle said.
Export Marketing will also cover legal considerations such as the IP and contract issues associated with exporting to overseas markets.
“Whether you’re thinking of exporting your product or service, or are already in the process I encourage you to attend the workshop. It will prove a valuable experience.”
Export Marketing will be held on 16 April from 9am -12.30pm. The half day seminar costs $33 to attend and will be held at the Cairns Regional Centre, Ground Floor, Cairns Port Authority Building, cnr Hartley and Grafton Streets.
Director of the Department’s Cairns Regional Centre, Darren Cleland, said the Getting It There and Getting Paid seminar would provide valuable advice in a number of areas.
“These include export documentation, international trading terms, financial transactions for exporting, selecting the most suitable freight method and tips on labelling, packaging and packing,” he said.
The full-day seminar costs $66 and will be held from 9am - 4.30pm on 30 April at the Cairns Regional Centre, Ground Floor, Cairns Port Authority Building, cnr Hartley and Grafton Streets.
