Hope College will host its sixth annual High School Honors Band Festival concluding with a concert on Saturday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
(PressZoom) - Hope College will host its sixth annual High School Honors Band Festival concluding with a concert on Saturday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The group will be composed of more than 100 students who have been nominated by their band director or private teacher from 15 schools across the state. They will rehearse on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. The students will work with Hope College faculty member Gabe Southard on challenging band repertoire and will meet with various faculty members for master classes.
This year the band will be performing Johan DeMeij’s “Symphony No. 1 ‘Lord of the Rings.’”
Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
