Actress Bonnie Franklin, best known for her single mother role on television's hit 'One Day At A Time' died from cancer at the age of 69. Frankin was the star of one of the 1970's most popular sitcoms which also starred Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli.
(PressZoom) - Actress Bonnie Franklin, best known for her single mother role on television's hit 'One Day At A Time' died from cancer at the age of 69. Frankin was the star of one of the 1970's most popular sitcoms which also starred Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli.
The cause of her death was attributed to pancreatic cancer and the actress reportedly passed away at her home.
Franklin had been heavily involved in theater productions in the 1970's and had been nominated for a Tony award for her performance in the Broadway show 'Applause' when the opportunity came about for the Normal Lear television show. The actress played a single mom with two teenage daughters who was building a life for her family. The show tackled many subjects often seen in today's shows but at that time, the topics were groundbreaking.
Franklin leaves behind her mother and two stepchildren from her marriage to Marvin Minoff.
