Mean Green Ice Cream Machine cools down Middle Tennessee with Nashville Ice Cream Trucks Rentals

(PressZoom) - In 1984 President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month, and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
According to the National Dairy Foods Association, about 9 percent of all the milk produced by United States dairy farmers is used to produce ice cream.
One area business known as much for its look as its ice cream is sure to be on the clock.
The Mean Green Ice Cream Machine is an ice cream truck rental that started off as a typical white Good Humor ice cream truck, but has since transformed into a hulk of a machine and entertainment on wheels.
The truck is a popular food truck rental serving Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area and is owned and operated as a family-owned business.
According to the website for the Mean Green Ice Cream Machine, the idea for the truck started by a couple “who wanted to change the image of the scary ice cream truck people.”
Since then, many hours were spent on the idea and concept, and most importantly, the truck.
“We were attending car show events and there had never been anything refreshing to eat while admiring all the cool cars,” the website says. “In addition, we were always a bit fearful of certain ice cream trucks due to several factors—cleanliness, operators and demeanor.
“So we decided to come up with a different spin on the old ice cream truck…one that always puts a smile on everyone’s faces.”
The Mean Green Ice Cream Machine started out as any other white Chevrolet International Good Humor ice cream truck, a 1975 model bought in 2008, and was sanded down to bare metal before being brought back to life with bright green paint.
Next came logos, graphics and professionally designed artwork to add to the posterior of the truck.
Custom rims and a customized sound system, along with many mechanical upgrades, including hydraulics to make the truck bounce through neighborhoods, were also added to the features of the truck to help it to stand out. The hydraulics enable the truck to move in many different configurations: front up, rear up, pancake, see-saw and side-to-side.
The truck also lights up the streets with green neon lighting underneath and LED lights inside.
Additionally, the truck is also equipped with a TV, sinks and freezers.
The Mean Green Ice Cream Machine is a part of the Nashville Food Truck Association, a premier organization in the Middle Tennessee area formed for the purpose of promoting, expanding and protecting mobile food vendors.
The truck is also inspected at least twice a year to meet the Tennessee Department of Health’s requirement for serving ice cream treats.
Previously, the Mean Green Ice Cream Machine was also one of the first trucks in a pilot program two years ago that allowed food truck vendors to park and serve in certain zones at designated hours in downtown Nashville.
According to their website, the truck carries more than 20 different types of pre-packaged ice cream, along with sodas, waters and novelty items for purchase.
Some of the typical pre-packaged items include Choco Tacos, Creamsicles, Fudgsicles, snow cones, Mega Missile pops, Bubble Gum Swirl pops and many other Popsicle and Rich’s Ice Cream brand favorites.
More recently, the truck also offers a dual menu, featuring both old school treats, as well as gourmet ice cream desserts. The truck now serves hand-scooped ice cream cones and desserts such as chocolate covered bananas, strawberries, cheesecake and pineapples, along with custom ice cream cookie sandwiches, peanut butter filled jalapenos covered in chocolate and dried apricots in chocolate, among other things.
The truck is popular and ideal for car shows, festivals, corporate events, grand openings, school fairs and more.
